Getting started

From your invite to your first session, in a few minutes.

  1. Install EVC

    On Mac, open the .zip file and drag EVC into Applications. On Windows, run the installer. Then open the app.

  2. Activate your invite

    On first launch, EVC asks for your invite code. Paste it: the app checks the code and activates on this machine. A code works on a limited number of machines.

  3. Connect your models

    In Settings → Providers, connect your Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI… accounts or add an API key. For MTPLX, click Configure.

  4. Start your first session

    Click New session (⌘N), pick a project and a model, then describe what you want to do.

  5. Connect your iPhone

    In Settings → Machines, EVC shows a QR code (on a Linux server, run evc pair). In the iPhone app, add a machine and scan it. To reach it away from home, install Tailscale on both devices.

  6. Go further

    Schedule routines, let EVC remember your preferences in its memory, and turn on the skills and commands each project needs.

Trouble? If your code is refused or you changed machines, reply to the message that contained your invite.

The engine also runs headless:
